Rochester, NY Police officer Mario Masic, who Arrested Emily Good, Caught on Video Allowing Maxwell's Club Bouncers to Assault Man

By Davy V.
Rochester, NY Police officer Mario Masic.

He made international headlines when he violated Emily Good's First Amendment right after he arrested her for video recording him conducting a racially profiled traffic stop of an African-American motorist on May 12, 2011. (See video below).

Apparently, Rochester, NY Police officer Mario Masic, has a thing for getting caught on video.

In a video shot by a Rochester resident, RPD officer Mario Masic is seen allowing a white club bouncer to punch a Black man who is face planted in a snowbank with several bouncers on top of him on the sidewalk, in front Maxwell's club located at 169 St. Paul St. In downtown Rochester.

On the video, the bouncer, wearing a red jacket, is seen grabbing and kneeing the man, in the January

5, 2013 incident.

Then, as soon as RPD officer Mario Masic arrives on scene and is walking up, another bouncer is seen and heard yelling to the bouncer assaulting the man "Yo Mark, Mark!", as to alert him that the police had arrived.

The man's face is seen face down in the snow, and at one point the man is heard yelling what sounds like "I can't breathe!"

When officer Masic approaches the man, Masic seems to stop long enough for the bouncer to punch the man, allowing him to assault the defenseless man one more time. before moving in.

Masic completely ignores the bouncer's assault of the man, and instead yells "Back up! Back up!" to a black woman concerned for the man on the ground, being assaulted.

Throughout the video, other Maxwell's bouncers, in black tops with the word "SECURITY" on the back, can be seen.

At one point, the camera zooms in on the man's face, and a bouncer is seen lifting his leg up and bringing his knee down on the man's head, burying his face in the snow bank even more.

According to witnesses, the man who was assaulted had stepped outside of the club to smoke a cigarette and when he went to go back in, Maxwell's bouncers refused to let him back into the club.

That is when the bouncer in the red jacket assaulted the man by pushing him, a struggle ensued and the man wound up being face planted in the snow bank by Maxwell's bouncers.

The man was later arrested by Rochester Police on unknown charges.

Regardless what ensued before the video was recorded, Rochester, NY Police officer Mario Masic witnessed a clear assault on a restrained, defenseless man right in front of him, and completely ignored it, and as a result once again violated his sworn oath to serve and protect.

support rogue, corrupt RPD officers like Mario Masic
Officer Masic violated the letter of the Rochester Police departments Code of Ethics, specifically where it states "AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all persons to liberty, equality and justice... I WILL never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities."

Frankly, I'm not surprised at officer Masic's behavior.

I expect nothing less from a dirty cop who violated the Constitution of the United States of America by arresting a woman for video recording him from her own property.

And I expect nothing less from Rochester, NY Police Chief James Sheppard, and Rochester Mayor Thomas Richards who condone rogue, corrupt officers like Mario Masic.
